"It wasn't unusual for Sam to wake up terrified" and covered in sweat, but about the last few night's dream was different.

He didn't say anything about what was wrong or if he say anything he was just quiet, he used to scream and yell when he was young, before our parents well.....died. Well not my mum though she is still alive but in a wheelchair. She's always been though.

I was sitting there one night staring to the ground and for first time it was when he never screamed or started to yell or wake up in sweat, he actually had a smile on his face but something was off though like he was trying to hide something.

Then it came back, the screaming the yelling everything he just got all back after having a good day, My Mum thinks is because what happened to dad.

Dad was a worker on this new building, it was supposed to be high tech and really cool so we went there to see him, he said he will be back after lunch so then he went through the elevator after Sam was smiling at him back his face saw what was wrong, the elevator was not supposed to used so as soon as he pressed the button without the door closing the elevator dropped and seconds after watching it you could a roar of fire and steel and zaps of electricity.

THe rules of baseball

We were told to say what the rules are but he didn't say anything about the rules so I don't know what the rules are.

Hopefully we get taught what the rules are for the next game we are taught.

So we were playing the game I had to learn on the way but I just did what I thought was right.

Workshop 3

Workshop 3 First day back.

Atmosphere/Mood: How we feel when we watch this.

Warm colours:Yellow,orange and other bright colours because if it's a bright or a warm colours to make want to sit on it except for cold colours.

Cold colours:Something that's clean like furniture at a furniture shop.

Bright:To make things stand out and make it look like it's full energy.

Dull:Calm, quiet and sometimes boring.

Natural lights: To make it feel like it's real and it's real life.

Artificial Lights: to make it feel like it's not real.

Colour pallet: The colours used in the that shot e.g and have certain colours for the mood of whats happening.

Things that have been said: They don't even talk to me, They call me ugly and does it even matter.

Auggies mums goes and talks to him and try to reason with him why it's going to be better.

Camera/Angles: When looking at Auggie when he's talking but when looking at mum they go for the over the shoulder shot to make it feel like we were seeing what he was seeing.

Lightning/Colour:Warm colours are to make us feel safe and comfortable when watching this scene, we have got dull colours because we feel sympathetic.Natural light because it's night and to make feel even more real than it looks already.

Effects on the viewer: Sympathetic,sad,sorry,lonely depressed,miserable.

Directors purpose:

Make us feel the sadness of the moment and the importance of Auggie relationship with no family.

SEXXXY paragraphs:

The scene where Auggie cries to her mother about being bullied, the colour/lighting is used correctly to show us what  he is feeling and make us feel miserable.

We see this this use of warm and dull colours in the shot to make it more comfortable for Auggie to say what happened so we get the most out of them.This makes me understand that Auggie feels alone and lonely and makes the viewer miserable.

Directors purpose:This was done to make us feel like we have something in common and show resiliance by talking to his mum.Close up shots to show the emotion and to show the tears on Auggies face.

When his dogs dies and because he shows the audiance that he is upset because his sister wants him to go to her play because like when he ran to his room because this happens as well during this scene as well.

Workshop2 english

Workshop 2 English Fight scene 1

Shot 1, Jack and Julian are fighting because Julian a freak so he punched him and that started the fight then jack's teacher pulled him away.

Camera/Angles: Dutch tilt-something wrong is happening.

Low angle shot-Makes the person on top of him look stronger that the one on the ground.

Viewer reaction: Shocked or surprised that Jack was beating him up because we have never seen him do that and it's not like Jack and he stood up for Auggie so that was a surprise as well.

Directors purpose: Close up to make us feel like we were part of the fight and see their emotions change suddenly and know whats happening. Slow motion used to drag out what happened because it would be to fast to actually see what happened.

Music:

Slow minor music so we would listen and watch what is happening to them.

Starts quiet then music as well as jack writing about the letter he sent to the principal and then it stopped when the principal started to talk.

S-In the fight scene between Julian and Jack Will, camera angles are used effectively to lure the viewers into the scene.

(E) This is demonstrated to the use of close ups, tilt shots and dutch shots.

The low angle shot make the person on top look strong but the person on the bottom looks weak and vulnerable.

(X) This make the audiance feel concerned, worried and shocked that he punched Jack Will has never done that before so that was a surprise and that he always agrees with Julian but not know.

(x)The director did this to make us attached to what we were watching and show the viewer that being right is better than being than popular.

(X)Combined with slow motion and use of music as well to make it more understanding and emotions to help us understand what they were thinking and feeling.

(Y) This can be compared when the close-up happens to Auggie at the start because they are both in slow motion and to show us a small part of a bigger moment.

 

Home economics

Home economics

Yesterday we made ginger gems but I wasn't here so I'm just gonna talk about what all the groups did and how good or bad they were.

Most groups didn't do so well but 1 group really really good.

The Ginger gems that we had had a spicy taste to it but I don't know what it actually supposed to taste like because I wasn't here to actually taste it,

I don't know the recipe because well I already said that I wasn't here so I searched it up and it was something like this:

1.spices of some sort

2.egg

3.flour and something else that I don't know etc.

So that's all I know about our lesson.

Self directed goal.....

Kindness-Verbal/physical is nice, caring one and other.
Respect and using respect.

Example:
When Jack sticks up for Auggie during the fight scene.
Shows kindness by sticking up for when Julian called him a freak, so does summer because she was kind when Jack said things behind his back.
It helps people get through things like going to a new school or builds your self confident, without the kindness that some people showed he would not take off his mask and feel like that he could even take it off.
When Anos and the others stood up for him as well as summer being kind and not sitting with her friends but to sit next to Auggie to make him feel like his only friend didn't betray.


Family and friendship-
Trust and people that you can go to and talk or have inside jokes or just have fun and feel safe with and resiliance .

Example-When the dog died everybody wasn't okay and they needed each other to keep going with out giving up and staying down to grieve and supported by each other.
Auggie and Via put aside of there argument that they because there dog that died.


Example 2-Fight at the Nature reserve because it shows that after that fight that those other kids who were friends with the bully stood up, so that shows that he can trust him to do the same again.
It also supports others that there not alone, like when Auggie stood for Jack just before Anos came to show support and trust.
It shows after the fight of Auggie crying next to the water so then everybody goes near them and show that they are friends and that they care.


Choosing right or being popular-
Being right means doing things without people really knowing that you actually did it,  but being popular means that you do what people are and if it's wrong to do it.

Example: When  jack chose to go with Auggie except of Julian to be right and not popular.
Julian lied about all ready have something down for Jack so he said he doesn't want and that is when the fight scene.
When Summer chose to sit with Auggie except of the popular girls saying something about THE PLAGUE!
So basically Summer was choosing the right except of popular.
So Auggie said the his teacher said that you go set with me but they argued about did he actually and it turns out that he didn't, after awhile they built there new trust.
Important to the story- The story is relatable and everybody should know what they are going through,
so that is what that is about.

Reflection about our previous lesson

Last lesson in health we played our other classmates games to see what it was about.
All games were too easy and not very exciting I got bored halfway through.

We did quite good for the the balloon game but I popped the water balloon, and you could guess that I was not that wet.

The point of the games were so we would show people what we created or found.
We played this cup game and me and TJ started to mess around, you could say trying to muck up us trying to do this game.

We strted to play this ping pong game and you have try and get into the cups but  I sucked.

Structure-narrators change the perspective of the of  the viewer-1-Auggie, 2-Via, 3-Jack Will, 4-Miranda, 5-Auggie.

Auggies dad-Nate, It's like leading a lamb to the slaughter.

Opening scene:0.36-1.46

Camera shots/angles=Eye level,close up to make us think Auggie is in space , we later zoom out to see we are in his bedroom.

Special effects=Slow motion of Auggie jumping to make it more realistic as in space because there is no gravity so people move slower.

Music/sound=Diagetic= ground control talking over radio, give us the idea he is in space.Major key is a happy sound, minor is more of a sad sound. the music starts to speed up when Auggie starts to talk and zoom out of the space.

Symbols=Auggies Astronauts helmet represents that he's afraid to show his face,Auggie puts people between himself and others even when its all people who don't really see him.

Next scene,Science classroom scence. 7.30-9.28

Camera shots/angles=open with a high angle wide shot, makes the room look big and scary to the students to look weak and vulnerable.

Body Language=Auggie walks with shoulders hunched, slouched posture and head down to make him look smaller and weaker. Trying not to be notice.

Star wars Symbols says something about Darth Sideous and Auggies Star wars Padawan braid.

Camera/shot- Over the shoulder eye level, Julian and Auggie - Cuts between close-ups of Auggie to show emotion and shots of Julian and the rest of the class makes it feel like Auggie is alone.

-Summer ' when given the choice between being right and being kind choose kind.

Shows us why people stare how they wishes they'd deal with it.

Everyone in the star wars universe looks strange, like deformed but since everybody doesn't care because everybody look weird so he would fit in.

-Auggie "sorry if my starring made you uncomfortable".

Camera/angles over the shoulder shot as Jack punches Julian make us feel part of the fight.
- Low angle during the fight makes the person on top look strong.
-Dutch tilt- lockers are on an angle used to show something isn't right.

Special effects-Slow motion- makes it easier to understand and know what they are feeling when looking at their faces.



Music/Sound-Tempo-slow, sad,dynamics-quiet and intense.
-Music comes in when the voice over start .

Camera Angles/Shots-Bully looks weak because the camera angle looks like it's trying say that the group of boys are much stronger than but while he is on the ground it looks like hes vulnerable.

Music-Used to build tension or suspense
-tempo-very quiet at the start then starts to get higher while they were running away so we would stay hooked and feel anxious and worried.


Special effects-



Themes- we see the importance of family and friends/kindness.



Conclusion/the ending. 

Camera shots- Tilt shot up as Auggie bows, we are shown a similar scene to the opening only this time we are looking at real space while Auggie is jumping up and down.

-Finishing a repeat of what happened at the start as a astronaut jumping in the air to show thats he's happy.

Music- the music is loud to give the feeling that something happy or good is happening.


Where as the start where Auggie had to imagine himself to b happy now he doesn't have to because of all the things that he has done like make new friends, standing up for himself and not worrying about what people think about him.
