Where do we hear this iconic song?
We hear it on Anzac day at dawn at 4.55 pm, they use it at Anzac cove to remember the dead and soldiers who fought their that day.
Why is this song significant/important to New Zealand?
The Last Post is played at military funerals and commemorative services as a final farewell and symbolises that the duty of the dead is over and that they can rest in peace.
What is the history behind the last post why was it played and when? They played it to get them ready for anything like our school bell, to signify it's training, lunch, breakfast and sleep time.
What does the song represent?
It represents the battle at Anzac and the people who lost their lives and family over the war, it reminds people that they died fighting for what they though right.
